National Network to End Domestic Violence
Give today. Support Women In Need
One in every four women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime. Survivors often arrive at shelters with little more than the clothes on their back and rely on donated items to get back on their feet. Bras are the most needed, yet least donated clothing item for women. In July 2010, Soma set out on a mission to make a difference in the lives of women in need by collecting new or gently worn bras. In partnership with the National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV), the bras we collect are distributed to women in need in your local communities.
During Soma’s bi-annual Soma Bra Donation event, we are proud to continue our partnership with the NNEDV, the leading voice for survivors of domestic violence and their advocates, representing more than 2,000 shelter programs in the United States. Each year, more than 4 million women stay in domestic violence shelters. Your monetary donation will go directly to the NNEDV to support victims of domestic violence through shelter and housing, violence prevention and advocacy, internet safety and economic empowerment. In addition to financial support, you can also support women in need by bringing new or gently worn bras to any Soma boutique January 8th-February 4th. Visit (http://www.soma.com/givebras) for inspirational stories of women who have been touched by bras collected by Soma. Together with your help, we can continue changing the lives of women in need and reach our goal of #OneMillionBras.
