Artists from around the world, or from our very own in-house team, collaborate with our designers to bring these prints to life. Inspiration can come from anywhere and is drawn from faraway destinations, nature's beauty, womanhood and our shared life experiences. We’re excited to spotlight our latest artist-in-residence print for Mother’s Day created by our very own Senior Manager of Trend & CAD, Anne Marie Jackson.
Inspired by the beauty of Italy’s Amalfi Coast in tandem with a deeper metaphor of motherhood, our Lemon squeeze print was born. Anne Marie shares, “I liked the symbol of the lemon. As women, when something is hard we make lemonade—and motherhood can be very hard. I was also thinking about celebrating every stage of motherhood with drinking lemonade in Southern Italy—a place we all want to go.” Because don’t we all deserve a fresh-squeezed beverage on a veranda with a beautiful view?
While motherhood is hard, there’s so much beauty to be found and even a few surprises, just like in nature. “This print has plumeria, palm fronds, and soft sea aqua tones which were originally done as watercolor and pencil crayon.” She adds, “There’s little dragonflies hidden in there.”
