Happy International Women’s Day

At Soma®, women supporting women is at the heart of everything we do. In honor of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, we’re placing the spotlight on our Soma® associates. We asked them to share about the women they admire, their greatest accomplishments, the advice they’d give to their younger selves—and most importantly—what they love about being a woman. Here’s what they said.

Meet Jill, a Remote Social Stylist at Soma®

Soma® employee wearing a pink blazer, white blouse, black pants, and pink strappy heels.

Who is a woman in your life, or in general, that you admire?

It would be impossible to measure the impact that so many influential women have had on my life. I’m inspired by individuals who have integrity, resilience, compassion, respect, and are big thinkers!

What is your greatest accomplishment so far?

My greatest accomplishment will always be my children. While I acknowledge my professional and educational accomplishments, I can’t help but always feel that raising my children has been profound and life changing. What a privilege to guide them on their journey of life.

If you could give advice to your younger self, what would it be?

One moment, one introduction, one lesson, one decision can completely change the course of your life. Never say no to an opportunity.

What do you love about being a woman?

I love that I am strong, passionate, hardworking, diverse and I do it all in heels!

Who is a woman in your life, or in general, that you admire?

I admire Carmen Hebert! She was the manager that hired me at Soma® in 2017 and inspired me to explore retail. She’s an amazing, selfless person, who has infectious energy; I’m honored to have met her and she’s like family now.

What is your greatest accomplishment so far?

My greatest accomplishment is empowering women. From helping women find their perfect fit to using my social media platforms to bring positivity, diversity, and relatability, I am all about uplifting any woman that I come across.

If you could give advice to your younger self, what would it be?

I would tell my younger self to keep being talkative and keep using your voice. Someone needs to hear it even when you aren’t aware.

What do you love about being a woman?

I love everything about being a woman. We are so many things at once and we do it well. A lot of us wear multiple hats proudly and usually fashionably at that. Our bodies are powerhouses that create magic and make the impossible— possible. Now more than ever, we are transparent, honest, vulnerable, and powerful! I love it. ️

The woman I admire in my life is my grandmother. Strong, hard-working, and very grounded in her faith! She raised me to become the woman that I am today.

What is your greatest accomplishment so far?

My greatest accomplishment is raising my children. Seeing them become amazing young men makes me proud.

If you could give advice to your younger self, what would it be?

The advice that I would give my younger self is not to worry too much about life in general.

What do you love about being a woman?

What I love about being a woman is having the gift of intuition! The ability to nurture people's lives. Finding my own voice, being myself unapologetically, sharing my ideas and being multifaceted!

What is your greatest accomplishment so far?

My greatest professional accomplishment so far has been to take part in the development of my staff and to become a top performing store.

If you could give advice to your younger self, what would it be?

Don't be afraid of change.

What do you love about being a woman?

I love that women can be anything and everything. We can be strong and sensitive, passionate and determined, and fierce and loyal.

Meet Ivonne from our Coconut Point boutique in Estero, FL

Soma® employee wearing a black blouse, black slacks, and gold jewelry.

Who is a woman in your life, or in general, that you admire?

My mother because she taught me all that made me who I am today. She taught me love, strength and how to be humble. She taught me how to love others as I love myself and how to show my love through my heart and soul.

My daughters, because I taught them all that my mother gave me, and I see a better version of myself through them and their success. I can still teach them and learn from them through life's journey.

What is your greatest accomplishment so far?

Other than being a loving, working wife and mother of four, one of my greatest accomplishments is being able to express my love for life through this opportunity with Soma®. Being fully relocated from Puerto Rico to the Soma® store in Florida has given me another opportunity to help women from all over the world to look and feel great about themselves. With love and compassion, I’m helping so many women, and it has given me a sense of fulfillment.

If you could give advice to your younger self, what would it be?

All is possible through love and respect. Always treat others as you would like to be treated so you can inspire and be inspired. Never stop learning.

What do you love about being a woman?

I love being a woman because I can be loving, strong, beautiful, caring, powerful, unstoppable, fabulous, and gracious all at the same time.️
